K-12 After School Arts

During the school year, there are 5 six-week sessions. $150.00 including supplies

 

The Franklin Art Center afterschool classes for the school age artist are based on the Massachusetts Visual Arts Framework. If you feel you would like your student to have one-on-one attention with one of the teachers, please review the Private lessons and contact us for more details.

After School Arts (A): ages 5 – 8. Tuesday 3:30 – 5:00 (Class is full)
After School Arts (B): ages 10 – 14. Thursday 3:30 - 5:00 (Class is full)
After School Arts (C): ages 9 – 11. Friday 3:30 - 5:00 (Class is full)

After School Arts (A): ages 5 – 8. Tuesday 3:30 – 5:00 Age appropriate projects are based on the Massachusetts Frameworks for Visual Arts. Exploration in a variety of mediums including watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, acrylic paint, drawing, collage, mobiles, and 3-D sculpture. We will learn about master artists and look at local artwork in the gallery. All classes are taught in an artistically stimulating environment that is non-competitive and nurturing, building self-esteem and confidence.

After School Arts (B): ages 10 – 14. Thursday 3:30 - 5:00 This class is for the older child that is interested in the visual arts. Beginners to experienced young artists will be able to develop their artistic skills. Lessons will involve a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, color mixing, composition, sculpture, 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional design, and multi-media design. We will look at the masters as well as the art of local artists on display in the gallery to reinforce our lessons.

After School Arts (C): ages 9 – 11. Friday 3:30 - 5:00 This class is an extension of the Tuesday class due to the large number of students enrolling.
