Pre School Summer Art Classes

Registration is for either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or the Tuesday and Thursday group. Students may register for the full week.

Butterflies, Bugs, and Beetles

Nature lovers will be inspired to draw, paint, and build butterflies and bugs. A variety of different mediums will be explored to create 2D and 3D art.

Under the Sea

If you love the beach, fish and other sea creatures come in and learn about the ocean and make a variety of 2D and 3D art based on the sea. We will paint, draw , and sculpt and read stories about the ocean.

Summer Classes

June 25- August 9
Two times available, Monday-Thursday 9:30-12:00 and 1:00-3:30
Classes are $200 and all supplies are included.

All Summer classes will run on a weekly basis, Mon.- Thurs. from 9:30am-12:00 and 1:00-3:30. Art clothes are suggested as we will be busy creating. Art smocks and supplies will be provided by Franklin Art Center. You may bring your own peanut-free snack and drink. On Thursdays at 11:30 we will have an art show, displaying all our creativity from the week. All art classes start and end promptly. Please plan accordingly.

Collages and Sculptures June 25-28|Ages 6-11 | Session 1A - 9:30-12:00
Do you like to build things? During the week, students will learn about Eric Carle and a variety of other artists. We will create textured paper, 2D, multimedia, and 3D artwork including clay and papier mache.

Animals in Art --- Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh My!
July 9-12 | Ages 9-14 | Session 2A - 9:30-12:00
July 9-12 | Ages 5-8 | Session 2B - 1:00-3:30
Come and create a variety of 2D and 3D art projects inspired by the exciting animal kingdom. Are your favorites furry, feathered or covered in scales? Animal lovers will be able to draw, paint, sculpt, and more.

Under Water Art
July 16-19 | Ages 5-8 | Session 3A - 9:30-12:00
Dive into a week of underwater art! If you like the ocean and sea creatures big and small, come in this week and explore a variety of media. We will paint, draw, papier Mache, our favorite sea creatures.

Art Around the World --- Creative Cultures-Art from Around the World
July 23-26 | Ages 8-12 | Session 4B - 1:00-3:30
Calling all world travelers!! This week we will be grabbing our passports and firing up our time machines to explore a wide variety of art from around the world! Come and be inspired by the art of ancient Egypt or the carp kites of modern Japan.

Inspiring Artists
July 30-August 2 | Ages 5-7 | Session 5A - 9:30-12:00
July 30-August 2 | Ages 8-12 | Session 5B - 1:00-3:30
O’Keefe! Van Gogh! Picasso! These artists are famous for good reason-their art is truly inspiring!!! Come learn about the artists and their art and create your own pieces inspired by their techniques and style! We will be working in both 2D and 3D during the week.

Art Studio
August 6-9 | Ages 10-14 | Session 6A - 9:30-12:00
Do you love to paint, draw, and sculpt? This class is for older students to expand their art interests. Equally appropriate for novice beginners and experienced young artisans. Projects include drawing, sculpture, painting, composition, color mixing, 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional designs.
